A grounding potion to ease you into the day’s moments at rise or rest. Evocative of an autumnal walk in the woods, filled with comforting notes of damp earth, spice and herbaceous roots.

This à la francaise multi-action facial cleansing oil from our Maison Collection  effortlessly melts and lifts ‘the day away’, simultaneously bestowing powerfully restorative and soothing antioxidant compounds, leaving the skin cleansed, nourished, and decadently supple.

Our Biodynamic ingredients work synergistically, providing enhanced cleansing results through naturally occurring emulsifying compounds and purifying properties - excellent for removing daily impurities and makeup. Without disturbing the skin’s natural microbiome, the Rituel de Maison leaves skin luminous, moisturized and rejuvenated.

MULTI-ACTION CLEANSING
Removes daily impurities and stimulates circulation without compromising the integrity of the epidermal protective barrier.
BALANCING
The harmony of omegas 3 and 6 supply the skin with soothing and rejuvenating properties.
RESTORATIVE
Non-stripping and non-drying; replenishes skin with beneficial antioxidants and micronutrients, leaving it refreshed and restored.
NOURISHING
Biodynamic plant extracts deliver a rich complex of phytonutrients in luxuriant carrier oils to nourish the skin.
Appropriate for daily use against daily impurities and for makeup removal.
Warm 3 - 5 pumps in your palms and gently massage onto dry skin for at least 2 minutes to encourage a deeper cleansing experience. Use circular, outward movements, encouraging natural lymphatic flow in the face and neck.
Using a clean, warm and damp cloth, sweep away with light upward and outward strokes and finish with a splash of cool water.
Pat the face dry and follow with your favorite hydrosol and the Extrait de Maison Rejuvenating Face Oil.
Suited for morning and nightly use. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne prone skin.
On our family farm, we operate in accordance with Biodynamic agricultural cycles. This means that first and foremost, we work in sync with Earth’s natural rhythms, resulting in distinct seasonal batches.

By fostering agricultural biodiversity, we are able to produce resilient, nutrient dense soil that not only sequesters carbon, but also grows plants of superior quality. This quality translates to ingredients that offer a diverse abundance of beneficial compounds for the skin. Embracing this diversity, minor variations in scent and color are expected and celebrated for each limited batch.

Notes from the Jardinier

Healthy Soil = Healthy Ingredients = Healthy Skin

Our herb garden is focused on plants that have remarkable properties specific to skincare.  Biodynamics shows us that those plants that nourish the skin, also happen to nourish the soil. There is a certain symbiotic harmony here: vitality nurturing vitality.

Following the Biodynamic standards of agriculture has enabled us to grow significantly from our first little patch of calendula, despite significant weather-related challenges, for which we are grateful, as it strengthened our resolve and required us to lean significantly on our familial gardening secrets, cultivated over centuries of tending to our land.

2021 has been full of hardships, extending even to our garden. Yet our plants have been strong and resilient – true warriors against the heat and lack of rain; thanks also to the planting of over 40 different varieties, instilling an environment of biodiversity. These difficult conditions, however, also made them more potent and rich in antioxidants, as they produce more of these compounds to survive. I am thrilled to share the fruits of our labors with you, as this year’s harvest has been truly abundant and bountiful, optimum for the highest quality skincare.

Complexe du Jardin™

For each product in the Maison Collection we develop a customized extraction blend employing our proprietary Complexe du Jardin™ method. This specific method meticulously saturates an oil with the nourishing medicinal properties of the plants we grow in our jardin following the Biodynamic® principles. As we grow each plant exclusively for each product, each extract is a targeted synergy of botanicals that addresses the desired actions of the product. This is why there are different herbs in our Extrait de Maison than in our Rituel de Maison.

Intentional Formulation

Ingredient synergy is the basis for a truly high-performance beauty product - an oil that cleanses and nourishes concurrently. This formula is 100% bioactive with intentionally selected, synergistic ingredients: supporting and enhancing each others’ capabilities to allow the natural physiology of the skin to function at full potential.

Polar oils, nature’s emulsifiers, contain higher levels of saponins than non-polar oils and have a natural affinity for water. Saponins are bio-organic compounds that naturally sud when exposed to water. Plants with saponins have been used for cleansing, without stripping the skin, for centuries. Whilst our polar oils are cleansing the skin, our restorative biodynamic oils deliver essential phytonutrients for clean, healthy and nourished skin.

An equally important feature of the Rituel oil cleanser is its carefully crafted blend of aromatic essences. Intentionally selected for their purifying and beautifying effects on the skin, these combined essences also bestow a rich, yet light, aromatic experience that instantly provides soothing and calming benefits. Ylang ylang, lavender and vanilla each have a long history of promoting relaxation of body and mind. This particular symphony of scents is delicately balanced to encourage feelings of wellbeing and harmony.

Ingredient Synergies

The formulation of the Rituel de Maison was focused on providing maximised cleansing properties whilst also delivering balancing Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, restorative Omega 9’s, and an abundantly nourishing complex of biodynamically grown plants.

Cleansing
The polar oils include Jojoba, Sesame, Castor, Avocado and Rice Bran; they provide the appropriate molecular structure to emulsify and to cleanse the skin naturally. They were, however, not only selected for their saponin concentration, but also for their supplemental vitamins, polyphenols, phytosterols, tocols (tocopherols and tocotrienols) and carotenoids, providing restorative and nourishing effects in tandem with their inherent cleansing abilities.

Balancing
Elderberry, Strawberry and Borage work in harmony with our naturally emulsifying ingredients and their oils are inherently soothing and rejuvenating. They provide the formula with a wealth of balancing Omega 6 fatty acids. Chia and Sea Buckthorn supply the skin with ultra soothing Omega 3’s and 7’s.

Restorative
Oils rich in Omega 9 fatty acids, like Moringa, Karanja and Pistachio were chosen not only for their supreme antioxidant and antimicrobial qualities, but also for their intrinsic elevated levels of oleic, palmitic and behenic acids, which are skin protective lipid compounds. These properties make these particular ingredients ideal for a restorative and cleansing massage, gliding smoothly across the skin whilst not stripping or drying the skin in the process.

Nourishing
Calendula, Cleavers, Lavender, Dandelion, Burdock and Chickweed encourage gentle lymph support whilst offering purifying and balancing properties in this phytonutrient-rich blend. Our Biodynamic Vanilla beans provide an aromatic decadence to enhance the aromatherapeutic benefits of the cleansing oil, whilst also delivering a unique blend of antioxidants like vanillin and vanillic acid.
